Dental Implants
Regain function with new teeth
Dental implants are a safe and reliable way to replace missing teeth. A small titanium implants posts are placed in the bone where the missing tooth roots were. After some time for healing, a new tooth, multiple teeth or even dentures can be placed on the implants.
Single Tooth Replacement
When a tooth is lost, a dental implant can usually be placed into the bone
where the root was. This can either be done at the time of extraction, or later. Once the implant has healed for a few months, a single tooth or “crown” can be placed on the implant. It looks and feels like a real tooth.
Multiple Tooth Replacement with Implant Bridges
When multiple teeth or even entire arches of teeth are missing, implants can be used to support fixed bridgework. For example: two implants may be used to support 3 or 4 teeth, or six implants may be used to support 12 teeth. There are countless combinations. Fixed bridges stay in the mouth and look and feel like real teeth.
Implant-Supported Overdentures
When an entire arch of teeth is missing but a denture is uncomfortable to wear or won’t stay in, implants can be used to stabilize them. Several implants are placed with attachments called locators. The denture “snaps” into place and is much more comfortable to chew with.
Mini Implant Stabilized Dentures
When dentures have been worn for years, the gums and bone underneath often shrink to the point where the denture no longer stays in place. Mini-implants can often be used to stabilize the denture and improve chewing.
